Clinic basketball is designed for full participation with emphasis on learning the game, developing fundamentals (dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork), and having fun. Games are adapted to the skill level of each participant and team. Rules are modified, baskets are lowered and building confidence and learning "the right way" is stressed. All boys and girls are welcome and no prior experience is required.

Three Divisions (organized by birth date):
- Ages (5-6) - Little Hoopers
- Ages (7-8) - Junior Jumpers
- Ages (9-10) - Senior Shooters

Registration Info:
- Monday, October 3, 2022:  Registration Opens
- Sunday, December 4, 2022:  Registration Closes
- Cost:  $95 - includes basketball jersey and shorts!!

Registration MAY remain open after the closing date.  Wait Lists will be enabled for all divisions.  You will not be charged a registration fee while placed on the Wait List.  Players may be activated from the Wait List if a roster spot becomes available.  If a program is not listed, then registration has closed for the season. 

Season Information:
This is a clinic program that will emphasize on learning the fundamentals of basketball (dribbling, passing, shooting, etc).  We plan to have in-house scrimmages as well as games against a few other local youth organizations for extra fun.  

- Practices:  Begin the week of December 4, 2022.   Practice schedules will be determined by the Basketball Commissioner and/or Coaches.  Players/parents will be notified of the practice schedule prior to December 4, 2022.
- Games:  Games will tentatively be played on Saturdays in partnership with some participating local youth organizations.
- Location:  All practices and most games will be at Jessup Elementary School:    2798 Champion Forest Avenue, Jessup, MD 20794.
- Equipment:  All players should wear basketball shoes and gym clothes for practices.  Players may not wear any jewelry, including necklaces and/or earrings during games.  Players are encouraged to bring their own basketball.  See below for appropriate ball sizes:
Ages 5-6:  Size 5 (27.5”)
Ages 7-8:  Size 5 (27.5”)
Ages 9-10:  Size 6 (28.5”)

Parents:
-  We need volunteers to assist in the following areas:  Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers.  JPYO prides itself on being a community-oriented sports program and we need our parents to take an active role!
