JPYO will enter teams in the Anne Arundel County Youth Soccer League in both the Fall and Spring seasons.  Teams are organized by birth year and gender and placed in the appropriate Division based on skill level.   Division 1 is the most competitive level and lower divisions gradually ease in skill and experience.  County league games are generally played on Saturdays in the fall and Sunday afternoons in spring.  U12 games are typically played on Friday evenings.

Teams will have home and away games and play at various locations in Anne Arundel County.  Practices are usually two days per week and are held at JPYO fields in the Severn, Hanover, and Jessup areas. 

JPYO will enter enter teams in the County League as early as the U9/U10 age groups, dependent upon coach and player commitment.  The County league is an introduction to more competitive soccer for younger players.   Unlike our in-house KickStart Program, coaches have more control of rosters, and play is generally for players who have some experience at the U9/10 age group. County Soccer is not "travel" or "club" soccer; it is still a recreational level with emphasis on player development and fun. 

Players who have reached the U11 and above age groups will automatically be placed on a County team as the KickStart program ends at U10.

County players are expected to display commitment and a willingness to learn and improve their skills/abilities.  Players are expected to attend all practices (absent any injuries or illness) and attend all games.   It is important for the team to grow and learn together through consistent practice teamwork.   Costs for the County Program are the same as the KickStart Program, except that uniforms are purchased and owned by each player until outgrown.

Playtime for players at the County level, per league rules, is generally 50% of games or more based on team size.  The only exception is Division 1, where the minimum time is 25% at coaches discretion.  This is due to the increased competition level.  Playtime can be affected by a players presence at practice.

*Any players registering for a U9 or U10 program who are new to soccer should enroll in the KickStart program instead of the County program.
