We emphasize, teamwork, skill development, discipline, sportsmanship and learning the game of basketball while adapting to interactions with all levels of skills, experiences and abilities. Our program is designed to provide individual and team development for all levels of players, however, the majority of our program is geared for those kids who have never played basketball before and want to learn, grow, develop and most importantly have FUN! 

County level is designed for more skilled players and usually includes at least 2 seasons of in-house/clinic up to advanced which might included several year of competitive basketball. This phase of the program is competitive and each team is representative of the more skilled players in our program who compete against other youth level recreation programs across Anne Arundel County and other counties. 

Clinic divisions are designed to allow each participant to learn while the emphasis is on teaching the game of basketball while learning basic fundamentals (dribbling, passing, shooting teamwork) getting healthy and in-shape and having FUN. The clinic games are adapted to the skill level of each participant and team. Rules are modified, baskets are lowered and building confidence and learning "the right way" is stressed.  

JPYO is an all volunteer program so we would welcome parents, coaches and players who want to help grow our program and make it successful while being apart of a family oriented youth development and sports environment. Prior basketball or team sports experience is helpful but not required.
