2011 Fall Soccer Kick-A-Thon

Why a Fundraiser?
The Soccer Kick-A-Thon will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011.   All proceeds will be used to help keep registration fees low and to help defray costs associated with running a youth sports program, namely for insurance, field maintenance, uniforms, equipment, supplies, trophies, team registration fees, advertising, referee fees, opening day and end of season banquet expenses.

How It Works
There are two ways to secure pledges:  Sponsor Pledges (or Per Foot Pledges) and Flat Rate Pledges.  Flat rate pledges are due from the sponsor regardless of the participant's maximum distance recorded at the event.  Sponsor pledges (or Per Foot Pledges) should be returned to their team's coordinator by Saturday, October 22, 2011.

Upon arrival, have all Pledge Forms completed.  All flat rate pledges are due October 15 and should be in the form of a check, made payable to JPYO (no cash, please).

For the Distance Kick, each participant will get to kick three balls off the top line of the goal box.  All three kicks will be recorded.  For the Lollipop, 4/5 and 6/7 divisions, where the ball stops rolling will be the official distance traveled.  For the county teams (U10 Boys and girls, U12 Girls, and U12/U13 Boys), the distance will be recorded at the ball's first bounce.  In the case of a tie, the second farthest distance will be used to determine a place winner.

In addition to the Distance Kick, there will also be three other opportunities for the players to win individual place medals - Throw-In, Penalty Kick, and Timed Slalom.  For the Throw-In, players will get 3 throws, the farthest throw will be recorded.  For the Penalty Kick, players will get 7 kicks into a divided goal for points. For the Timed Slalom, players will get 1 timed attempt at the slalom course.

There will be separate divisions participating:  Lollipops, 4/5 year olds, 6/7 year olds, and county teams.  All prizes will be presented at the end of season program.

Awesome Prizes

Team Prizes
The TEAM that raises the most (from each division) will receive a pizza party (to qualify, at least 3/4 of your roster must participate in the Kick-A-Thon).

The top three boy and girl winners of the Distance Kick, Throw-In, Penalty Kick, and Timed Slalom stations in each division (Lollipop, 4/5, 6/7, county) will receive individual place medals.

Every participant will receive a prize at each of the stations at which they participate.  Players that collect at least $40 in pledges will receive a FREE personalized Soccer Ball Backpack!

Team Schedule
Players can register either before or after their game.  They can also compete at the stations in any order or at any time (before or after their game).  The Kick-A-Thon will be "Open" from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Spring Baseball Hits for Kids-a-Thon

Why a Fundraiser?
The Hits for Kids-a-Thon will be on Saturday, May 19, 2007.  All proceeds will be used for new baseball equipment, baseball field maintenance, and to replace the borrowed funds from the JPYO general fund to purchase new equipment for this season.

How It Works:
Each player will get three pitches, from a pitching machine or batting tee.  The ball must advance a distance of at least ten feet in order to count.  If it does not advance at least ten feet after ample tries, ten feet will be recorded as the maximum distance the ball traveled.  The ball that traveled the furthest distance will be recorded.

There are two ways to secure pledges:  Sponsor Pledges and Flat Rate Pledges.  Flat rate pledges are due from the sponsor regardless of the child's maximum distance recorded at the event.  Sponsor pledges should be returned to their team's coordinator by Saturday, June 2.

Upon arrival, have all Pledge Forms completed.  All flat rate pledges are due May 19 and should be in the form of a check, made payable to JPYO (no cash, please).

There will be three separate age divisions competing:  3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds, and 7-8 year olds.  Each division will be awarded prizes for the top 3 places in both pledge collecting and hitting distance.  The prizes will be presented at the Family Picnic and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June 10.

Make Up Night
If players cannot make it on May 19, due to travel or sickness, make-ups will be held on Monday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. on Field 1 (NO target prizes will be awarded on the make-up day.)

There will also be another 50/50 raffle.  This is back by popular demand.  Tickets will be 1 for $1, 8 for $5, and 20 for $10.  The winner will be drawn after the Hits for Kids-a-Thon.  The winner does not have to be present, as long as contact information is provided.
