  • WebBall Baseball Instruction - a true resource gem!  There is just so much on this site you better start with the site map or the New to WebBall page but don't miss the form to evaluate a coach or manager.  A good place for a youth coach to start is Baseball Basics with good how-to's and tips.  Read the interesting story on how this web site started.
  • Junior Baseball - Check out the skills clinics which wisely are broken down into three different age groups, and nicely illustrated with pictures.  Other articles deal with breaking in a new glove, choosing the right bat and even one that clearly breaks down the throwing mechanics including exercises you can do to strengthen your throwing arm.  Have your players take the Aptitude Test in the Fun for Kids section.  Kids will also like the When I was a Kid section.
  • John T. Reed Coaching Youth Baseball Articles - John T. Reed is known for his "tell it like it is" information on and insights into the youth sports field.  He coached youth baseball from the t-ball age to age 18 and was player manager of two semi-pro teams.  Find out what to do in different baseball situations, and John Reed's ideas about what are the most common mistakes youth baseball coaches make, and also why all youth sports drafts should be blind.
  • Knowledgehound's Baseball Tips - This site contains a wealth of information on all aspects of baseball, including coaching and umpiring.
  • Barton's Youth Baseball - Al Barton, a high school history teacher and varsity baseball coach developed this site as a requirement for a grad course while pursuing his Masters Degree in education.  He coached in his town's Little League Program for 6 years.  You'll find pages of help on Throwing, Pitching, Fielding and Catching and Tips of the month.  Don't miss the Fun Stuff page he lists "Top 20 Reasons to Coach Youth Baseball."  Barton's Link Page
  • Want to know the limit on pitches a child should throw to prevent overuse injuries?  Check out USA Baseball and The Coaching Store.
  • Nedco Sports - Two websites (hit2win and pitch2win) selling products and giving free baseball information.
  • Coach John Peter's Baseball Tips - This website offers a variety of helpful tips and tools for coaches.  It has a free statistics calculation center that will calculate Batting Averages, Slugging Percentages, and Earned Run Averages.  The website has many helpful articles, such as how to coach younger children and helpful tips on how to deal with parents.  This website also offers a free email newsletter, delivered twice a month.
  • New England Catching Camp - This website has some useful articles related to this important position on your team.  You will find good information about why young players often don't want to be the catcher and what they did about it.  Teach the Catcher's Creed to your catchers and learn how to involve your catchers during your infield practice time.
  • Youth Baseball Info - This site is unique in that it not only has free resources and articles for baseball coaches.  Check out articles like base running drill for balls in the dirt.  This site is new and actively adding articles, so check the newest articles and the most popular ones.
  • Pro Baseball Drills and Equipment - This site provides drills, tips and strategies, even information on wood bats from a former major leaguer.  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of each page to find more links to other information.  Read the article about coaching kids the right way to build their self confident.
  • Baseball Scoring Menu - Baseball Almanac - Teach your player to score the game.  A web page for the baseball lover who can't enjoy the game without scoring it.  Score a youth baseball game, the ultimate scoring challenge.
  • Baseball Rules - A page with answers to the most frequently asked questions on the most commonly misunderstood rules.  Be sure to scroll down on pages - many of them have pictures which clarify the situations.  Check out the page of Sports Officials Links.
  • Baseball Myths - You might want to turn down your speakers before visiting this Austin Area Pony organization web page.  The page lists and explains the 40 most common baseball myths.
  • Be a Better Hitter - Check out the Fundamental Skills, especially how to overcome the fear of being hit by an inside pitch and the myth about the elbow.  There are also hitting drills and information about bat speed.
  • Eteamz - Baseball - This website has information on tips and drills in categories such as base running, catching, throwing and pitching.  In addition, it offers free baseball tips to be sent to your email inbox.
  • Tee-Ball-To-A-Tee - Do you have the patience to be a good coach?  Find out the twelve things you really need to know about coaching tee ball and how youth baseball can be a bonding experience between parent and child.  Take a quick Player's Quiz or find a free storybook for tee ball players.
  • Youth Baseball Coaches Tool Kit - This site sells a tool kit for youth baseball coaches which integrates ideas, forms and coaching philosophies.  Visit the sample page to view some free resources from the tool kit.
