Soccer - Fall 2009 - Registration is OPEN (Early-Bird Pricing)

Registration for Fall 2009 Soccer is now OPEN.  JPYO will be offering a $5 per player early-bird discount now through June 30.

Age Groups/Divisions

3 year olds – This year we’re going to try something new for the youngest soccer players.  Participants will attend a training session one day during the week and there will be separate games for this age group on Saturday mornings.  Players will be provided with a team shirt; players must provide their own shin guards and ball for practice.  As always, don’t forget to bring water to every practice and game.

4 and 5 year olds (Little Kickers) – This is our traditional 4/5 year old division.  Participants will be assigned to a team and will practice as scheduled by the coach.  Games will take place on Saturday mornings at Provinces Park.  Players will be provided a team shirt and socks.  All players must wear shin guards.  Please provide water for practice and games.

6 and 7 year olds (Junior Strikers) – This is our traditional 6/7 year old division.  Participants will be assigned to a team and will practice as scheduled by the coach.  Games will also take place on Saturday mornings at Provinces Park.  Players will be provided a team shirt and socks.  All players must wear shin guards.  Please provide water for practice and games.

AAYSA Divisions – U9 through U18 Boys and Girls – Anne Arundel Youth Soccer Association.  Participants will be assigned to teams as available.  Games will take place on either Friday night, Saturday day or night, and Sunday afternoons, depending on division.  Games will be held at various locations in Anne Arundel County.  Players, if they haven’t already, must purchase a uniform; cost is separate from registration fee.  Please note, the cost of JPYO’s standard uniform has increased to $35 this year.  Players must abide by all rules as set by the AAYSA.

JPYO is always looking for a few good volunteers.  As an all-volunteer organization, we will be recruiting for coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents.  In addition, to help keep our registration fees low (one of the lowest in the county), we will also be soliciting for team sponsorships.  If you or your employer would like to sponsor a team, please call the JPYO hotline, 410-519-0883, for more information.

Early-Bird Registration Fees (now through June 30):

1 player - $45

2 players - $70

3 players or more - $85

Standard Registration Fees (after June 30):

Baseball - Game and Concession Stand Schedules Online

The games schedules for JPYO's baseball divisions, BlastBall!, T-Ball and Coach-Pitch, have been put online - GAME SCHEDULE.  The game schedule has been revised with rain-out games being added later in the season.  Please check the schedule carefully for your games.

CONCESSION STAND SCHEDULE (Revised 5/11/09)  Coaches - Please note that if you have trouble finding someone to complete your timeslot for the concession stand, please contact Theresa Winkelmeyer, Kim Krautheim, or Bill Kramer prior to your assigned day.  We will make every effort to have the stand open for all Saturday games.  However, that will not be possible if teams don't show up.

Baseball - Opening Day!!!

JPYO Baseball held it's opening day on Saturday, April 25 at Provinces Park.  Twenty-three teams participated in the parade of teams, led by Louie, the Bowie Baysox mascot.  There were pony rides available for the children and also moon bounces.  The concession stand was open and served lots and lots of snow balls, due to the hot weather on Saturday.  Everyone had a great time and maybe even got a little sunburned, too.  Can't wait for a great season!!!  Let's play ball!

Baseball Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Needed

JPYO is losing a couple of MVP's this year.  Unfortunately, the 2008 season was the last for Bill Kramer and Jim Odom.  They have decided to move on to other projects and will not be returning next year for the 2009 baseball season.  The good news is, now is your chance to get involved!  JPYO is currently seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to fill these positions.  Some of the duties you will coordinate, in cooperation with one or more Assistant Commissioners, include:

  • Recruiting coaches and assistant coaches

  • Soliciting team sponsors

  • Setting the game schedules for the clinic leagues

  • Check inventory and purchase needed equipment

  • Supervise the conditions of the fields

  • Coordinate and/or oversee a fundraiser (if needed)

  • Order team uniforms/shirts (and distribute)

Unfortunately, these are not paying positions; however, registration fees for every JPYO sport (baseball, basketball, and soccer) are covered by JPYO for all Board members, including Commissioners.

If you’re interested in the position of Baseball Commissioner, or Assistant Commissioner, or even would like to help with any one of the items listed above, please contact Dave Cope, JPYO President, at 443-324-6434.

Online Payment

Please note that JPYO's current registration fees are:  $50 for one player, $80 for two players, and $100 for three or more players.  Registration fees help cover the costs of Anne Arundel County team registrations, equipment, insurance, field maintenance, referees, and various other costs associated with the program.  Thank you for your support!

If you have already registered for a sport, but have not yet paid and would like to pay online via PayPal, you can Pay Online Now.

It is the mission of JPYO to provide a fun and safe athletic experience for youth in the endeavor of team sports.  We promote ethics and values to encourage good sportsmanship within a team structure.  We emphasize the teaching of basic game rules, the value of healthy competition and the overall enjoyment of pursuing physical fitness.
