Spring Soccer - Registration OPEN

JPYO is now accepting registration for spring soccer.  Boys and girls can register for the Junior Strikers division (ages 6-7 and 5 year olds that will be 6 before Aug. 1, 2010.)  Based on numbers participating we will create an equal number of teams that will play games on Sunday afternoons.  Practice schedule will be determined by the coaches.  Players can also register for AAYSA teams - U8+.

Basketball FUNdraisers!

JPYO Basketball invites you to join us at Chick-fil-A at Arundel Mills on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Invite your co-workers, neighbors, family and friends.  Just tell the cashier you are with the fundraiser and place your receipt in the basket next to the condiments.  See you there!

Basketball - Wizards vs. Knicks at Verizon Center

JPYO is heading to the Verizon Center to see the Washington Wizards take on the New York Knicks on Friday, February 26, 2010 - game time of 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $30 for upper level tickets (sections 414 to 420 and 431 to 403) and $50 for lower level tickets (sections 104-107 and 115-118).  We must purchase a minimum of 250 tickets in order for JPYO to play a game on the court before the start of the game.  Please contact Catrina Hale at 301-213-5988 for more information or to purchase tickets.  Payments are only being accepted in cash until February 2, 2010 (Due date has been extended).


Baseball - Registration is now OPEN

JPYO is now accepting online registrations for the 2010 spring baseball season.  We are hosting four divisions of baseball this season.
   BlastBall! - Ages 3-4 (Foam bat and ball, and a honking base)
   T-Ball - Ages 5-6
   Coach Pitch - Ages 7-8
   Player Pitch - Ages 8-10 (In-house instructional teams)
   Player Pitch - Ages 8-10 (County travel teams), registrations fees for this division DO NOT include the cost of uniforms.  More information on the cost of uniforms will be available at a later date.

We are offering a new division this year, Player Pitch for ages 8-10.  This will be a co-ed division designed for players that are not yet ready or do not plan to move up to county-level play.

Here are some important dates for this season:
   Feb. 14 - Early-Bird Discount deadline ($5 per player)
   Feb. 19 - Registration Deadline for Player Pitch - Ages 8-10 (County travel teams)
   March 20 - Field Maintenance Workday and Equipment Pick-Up
   March 24 - Registration Deadline for all other divisions
   April 17 - Opening Day
   May 31 - Memorial Day, no games this weekend
   June 12 - Last games of the season, end of season awards and picnic

If you register before Feb. 14, there will be a $5 discount per player.  Registration after Feb. 14 will be the standard registration fee for all JPYO sports:  1 player - $50; 2 players - $80; and 3 players or more - $100.  Multiple player discounts are only offered to siblings.

Soccer - AAYSA (U8 - U18)


At its December meeting, the Anne Arundel Youth Soccer Association approved new rules for the 2010 soccer season.  Download 2010 AAYSA Rules.

First games of the spring season will be Sunday, March 21, 2010.  There will be no games on April 4 in observance of the Easter holiday.  The season's final games will be played on May 23, 2010.

First games of the fall season will be the weekend of September 10.  Double header weekends are scheduled for September 17 and September 24.  The Arundel Cup is scheduled to begin the weekend of September 10 and continue on September 17; the finals will be played the weekend of September 24.

The last games of the fall season will be played on the weekend of November 5-7, and November 12-14 will be the weekend set aside for make-up games.

 

Baseball Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Needed


Some of the duties you will coordinate, in cooperation with one or more Assistant Commissioners, include:

  • Recruiting coaches and assistant coaches

  • Soliciting team sponsors

  • Setting the game schedules for the clinic leagues

  • Check inventory and purchase needed equipment

  • Supervise the conditions of the fields

  • Coordinate and/or oversee a fundraiser (if needed)

  • Order team uniforms/shirts (and distribute)

Unfortunately, these are not paying positions; however, registration fees for every JPYO sport (baseball, basketball, and soccer) are covered by JPYO for all Board members, including Commissioners.

Please note that JPYO's current registration fees are:  $50 for one player, $80 for two players, and $100 for three or more players.  Registration fees help cover the costs of Anne Arundel County team registrations, equipment, insurance, field maintenance, referees, and various other costs associated with the program.  Thank you for your support!

REFUND POLICY: 
  If a player cannot be placed on a team due to space or team availability, a full refund will be issued.
  If a player withdraws from the league at least 3 weeks before Opening Day, a full refund will be issued.
  If a player withdraws from the league within 3 weeks of Opening Day, a 50% refund will be issued. 
  If a player withdraws from the league after Opening Day, a refund CANNOT BE ISSUED.  Uniforms purchased for AAYSA teams cannot be refunded.

It is the mission of JPYO to provide a fun and safe athletic experience for youth in the endeavor of team sports.  We promote ethics and values to encourage good sportsmanship within a team structure.  We emphasize the teaching of basic game rules, the value of healthy competition and the overall enjoyment of pursuing physical fitness.
